Frequently Asked

Probably the most often asked question is, " How much does it cost?"

This is certainly understandable because a wedding places so many conflicting demands on your budget.  Truth is, there are so many answers .  It's said, that a reasonable budget for wedding flowers is 10% of the total wedding budget.  Sounds good, but some couples may place less importance on flowers, and a greater priority on food, the venue, or a superior band.  Others may want to create an incredible atmosphere, and in this case it becomes not simply flowers , but flowers and elaborate decor that take up a larger portion of the wedding budget.

Significant factors that come into play as floral costs are examined are the number in the bridal party, and the number of centerpieces required.  If particular out of season, or premier flowers are to be used, floral cost will increase exponentially as well.  This is probably where you are thinking, great, not that helpful.  Ok, we get it.  Have a look at some average prices, and/or rather a range of prices on common wedding floral items.

General Price Guidelines

Floral decoration that covers archways, crosses, staircases, and other such elements really needs to be by special quote.  In my rookie days, I quoted a bride $500 from a photo, to cover an outdoor arbor in large sprays of flowers.  When I got around to getting the measurements and to looking more closely, I discovered that the structure was 18 feet wide and 10 feet tall.  It was lovely.  She was thrilled.  I was delighted with the lesson.

So here is where I want to say again, that this is my dream job.  We named the business Floral Support because we want to be real help, in getting what is right for you.  If you have a simple design in mind, and just need a bit of help with doing most of it yourself, please contact us.  The coffee is on me.  If you have incredible ideas, and want us to swing from the rafters, (having done it a few times), we are all in!  We've never met a wedding we didn't love!  We embrace the intimate, the rustic, the creative, and the elegant ideas of all brides and we have not had a budget we couldn't manage.

How does this work, where do I start?

This is a great question, because all florist work a bit differently.  I prefer to talk on the phone first to get some quick information.  Given that I still have your date available, we will schedule a meeting. I am happy to meet you at your venue, at Starbucks, or the place of your choosing.  The time and place is your call!  I'll ask you to bring colors, text me pictures, and share your Pinterest page so that I can get the clearest idea possible of your style.  A few days after the meeting, I will send you a full outline, in excel format, with prices by item, and pictures of the floral design plan.  From there we make adjustments until we get exactly what you want.  Of course, at this point nothing is chiseled in stone.  A while back, we were so excited about having worked out the details for decorating the back of a Jeep with flowers and lace!  It promised to be a memorable design!  Unfortunately, the Jeep was sold.  (Still love you, Jenna.)  Things change.  No worries, we are flexible.

When do I need to pay?

Once we work out the details on your design plan, we request that you pay 1/3 of the total, as a retainer deposit, if your wedding is to be held within 6 months.  Another 1/3 is due two months out, and the final 1/3 is due two weeks prior to the wedding day.   It's at this two-week period that significant changes become more difficult.  We want it to be perfect, so we do everything we can to accommodate your wishes!

What if I want to use my own containers or have special items I want decorated with flowers?

We are happy to use your containers if you prefer, and we can decorate any special items that you may want to use in the wedding.  We incorporated pistons into centerpieces not so long ago!  I always advise brides that unless they already own something they want to use, not to go out and buy it.  I have just about anything you might need, and I don't charge a rental fee for it's use.  We just charge for the flowers, and for the cost of arranging them.  We use a lot of lanterns in our wedding designs because it gives a great look at a lower cost.  They add height, light, and fullness to tables.  We highly recommend!  We have plenty, we think, but if not, we are always happy to get more!

  Cheers Always!
